Claims & evidence policy
Claims and evidence policy
The rules that decide what may appear on this site. We publish them so you can hold us to them.

How we grade evidence
Every product, protocol and research page carries one of five grades. The grade describes the strength of the published research, not the quality of the manufacturing.
| Approved / guideline-backed | An approved drug, or a recommendation carried by a professional guideline. |
| Controlled trial in this species | A controlled trial in this exact species, with a comparator group. |
| Early evidence | Early work: small, uncontrolled, or in a different species. |
| Laboratory evidence only | Cell culture or rodent models only. Nothing in a dog, cat or horse. |
| No evidence located | We looked and found nothing. We say so rather than imply otherwise. |
What we will and will not say
The right column contains real sentences from veterinary regenerative-medicine marketing, including from earlier material of our own. Each one failed a check, and why it failed is in the third column.
| We may say | We will not say | Why |
|---|---|---|
| In a randomised controlled trial of 80 dogs, 63% improved on force-plate gait analysis at eight weeks (PMID 36198051). | Clinically proven to relieve your dog’s arthritis. | The second sentence is an efficacy claim for an unapproved new animal drug and drops the species, the endpoint and the effect size. |
| Umbilical-cord MSCs are immune-evasive. In a randomised safety trial both equine and canine MSCs raised antibody titres, with no adverse events (PMID 37266387). | Immune-privileged. Zero-flare injections. | “Immune-privileged” is contradicted by the closest real evidence, which measured antibodies. “Zero-flare” is a safety claim with no comparative study behind it. |
| No head-to-head comparison of human-derived and equine-derived umbilical-cord products has been performed in dogs, cats or horses. | Human cells are more potent, so they work better in your pet. | There is no head-to-head potency or efficacy dataset. The only target-species randomised trial is on the equine-derived product. |
| Each cold-shipped case carries an irreversible time-temperature indicator; the QR code is how you read and report it. | Our QR technology monitors temperature from our facility to your clinic. | A printed code has no sensor, no clock and no power source. The claim is not merely unsupported; it is physically impossible. |
| Across 71 molecules audited, none has controlled efficacy evidence in dogs, cats or horses. | BPC-157 accelerates healing in dogs. | The only genuine canine BPC-157 paper is a beagle pharmacokinetic study with no efficacy endpoint. |
| For research and professional veterinary use. Not FDA-approved for use in animals. | For research use only — sold with dosing guidance for patients. | A research-use label alongside patient dosing is not protection. Intended use is read from the whole page, and the disclaimer then becomes evidence that the seller knew. |
Regulatory status, in full
United States. The cell- and exosome-based products described here are not approved by the FDA for use in animals and are unapproved new animal drugs. No animal cell-based or exosome product is FDA-approved. Federal compounding policy under Guidance for Industry #256 does not extend enforcement discretion to a distributor, and does not permit office stock to move between physical locations.
Colombia. Veterinary products are registered with the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) under a separate national framework with its own registration and import requirements.
Not medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for examination by a licensed veterinarian. We do not sell to pet owners.
Caution: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
